Summer Must Have: Blue Bikini

I have been strictly wearing blue bikini's recently!
I love the color blue, and that's all that I have liked from all the stores I have bought bikini's from.
I had a very hard time finding any bathing suits I liked this season.
I had some great ones in the past from Aerie, but I needed new ones, so I went to Aerie, but I wasn't too satisfied.

And then Zaful reached out to me and told me about their bathing suits! I think they have such a great selection online, and next time I'm in the market for a bathing suit, you can bet, I will be going to

My next bathing suit purchase is definitely going to be a red swimsuit!
Red is such a sexy color both on the beach and off!
I literally have five blue bathing suits right now but the next one will definitely be red!

"New York Girlfriend"

A blog post where there are barely any photos of me! WOW!
I know!
You're just as shocked as me!!
But honestly, I didn't take that many photos this weekend! I just focused on enjoying my weekend!!
So the very few photos I took I posted on my Instagram, @tallandpreppy and here for you guys to see!!

I had a very special visitor this past weekend ;)
I don't even know where to begin to describe the past four days.

I had a wonderful weekend!
It was fun and exciting yet restful and peaceful. It was adventurous yet cozy and comfortable.

A very busy weekend as well!
You name it we did it!
We went to the top of the Empire State Building, saw a show on Broadway, had dinner at my favorite restaurant- Becco, went to the Central Park zoo, had a picnic in the park, rowed a boat (well he rowed, I observed...) in Central Park, went to the MET, had a badminton tournament, drove to Montauk, and went to the lighthouse!

It was the craziest four days but the best four days ever!!

I can't wait for more adventures!

Coworkers Can be Friends

Yesterday I had a bit of a friendly confrontation with one of my coworkers.
In the past he hasn't been so nice because he think he's "top dog," so after he made a mistake yesterday, I told him to stop making such a big deal about when Michelle and I make mistakes around the office. He denied giving us crap, but we knew the truth.... So after I "owned" him, he started being really nice!
So ya see, coworkers can be friends, or at least friendly!

I got so many compliments yesterday from the kids and the teachers that I work with!
One of the teachers even said that she loves my outfits everyday and that I always look so cute!!
I was so flattered!
And I thought yesterday's outfit was especially cute with the pop of orange around my neck.

Eating my way through Massachusetts

This past weekend I went to Massachusetts to visit Caroline and Emily!!

The trip was great, but it definitely had a very rough start...
It started with me flying to Boston.
Or attempting to fly, I should say...

If you know me, you know I like luxury and that I don't like to waste time.
I thought I would be better off flying to Boston than driving or taking the train.
I think I was wrong.
I calculated all the prices and what not, and figured out it would be cheaper for me to fly than to take the train. And I wasn't going to drive by myself.
So I booked a 2 pm shuttle flight on American on Friday and because of "bad weather" and other reasons we didn't take off until 6 pm...

For about an hour I thought they were going to cancel my flight. They canceled the 1 pm shuttle flight and I was afraid mine would be next because all the planes were grounded in Boston. I called my parents and spoke to my friends and tried to figure out what to do. I thought about taking an Uber to Penn Station on 34th street and then taking Amtrak. But then I would be out $600... Sooo, that was going to be my last option.

While I was stuck at LaGuardia airport I befriended some ladies sitting across from me at the gate and we all commiserated together.
We were all pretty much in the same boat except they were trying to get home and I was just going away for a fun weekend.

Then this guy sat down and told us he works at air traffic control at Logan International Airport in Boston. So he made some phone calls and figured out that my flight took off from Boston and was on it's way to NY. But before that we all made a plan to rent a car and drive to Logan. And don't worry, I know that sounds sketchy, but he was a dad, and there was a grandma, a pregnant lady and two other 20 year olds and me that would be going on that crazy adventure if it was to happen. And he said it would be a company rental car because he worked for the airport. So we were all in on the plan!
And then my flight didn't get canceled, thankfully!

It was so nice that strangers were all so friendly and willing to help each other out in a bad situation. It really made me happy.

I was keeping Emily and Caroline updated the whole time about my flight status and what not, because Caroline was waiting for me at the airport...
So I texted them that I was boarding and that I would be at Logan within the hour...

But I spoke too soon... We boarded the plane, went out to the runway, lined up behind 20 planes and then was told by the captain that we needed a new crew because their time they were allowed to fly ran out so we had to return to the gate.

So we returned to the gate, they said the flight would take off at 5:45, that was a lie...
We had to wait to get another crew...

Thankfully there was actually an extra crew on our flight that was going to Boston, and they flew us safely to Boston.

We took off at 6:20 pm and we landed a little before 7.

That was the longest 37 minute plane ride I ever took....
So much for me being so clever and buying a plane ticket instead of a bus or train ticket...

So besides all the drama, I wasn't going to let the travel nonsense screw up my weekend!!

I speedily exited the plane and Ubered my way over to Blue on Highland where I was reunited with Em and Caro!
We were so annoying as usual and all ordered the same food: salmon with risotto.
And then of course we all took photos of our food and posted them all over our Snapchats and Insta stories! (Go follow me if you haven't already for all my travel adventures! @tallandpreppy)

After dinner we drove to Emily's house. We saw her parents, ate some brownies and literally went to bed at 11 pm.
We needed a good night sleep for the very exciting day we had on Saturday!!

As you can see from all over my Snapchat and Instagram, we went to the Red Sox v. Yankees baseball game!!

Emily told us she got last minute tickets on Thursday and ever since then I was so excited! I love any kind of sporting event and I knew that the Yankees v. Red Sox game was going to be a crazy one!!
It was such a good game!
They played 16 innings!!!
And the Yankees won!!!

The song "Sweet Caroline" came on during the 7th inning stretch so I started jumping up and down, swaying my arms, because I love that song and it is a bit of a throwback to Shag on the Mag, "Because down here you are a Carolina girl!"... That's a whole other story for a whole other night,
and I was minding my own business, dancing like an idiot and all of a sudden the people in the row behind us started tapping us on the shoulders letting us know we were on the jumbotron!!
It was so cool and such a fun experience!!

Not that I am a Yankees fan but I am a New York fan of any sport so I was proud to be cheering on the Yankees even though I was wearing red for the Sox. I really thought about wearing Yankees gear but my hosts/tour guides Em and Caro are Bostonians and I thought it would have been rude to wear blue and white / I also didn't want to get beat up or get anything thrown at me by any of the crazy drunk Red Sox fans...

I was also told about the famous Fenway Franks- aka a hot dog from Fenway park. My friends told me that I would have to have one at the game for the full Fenway experience.... so I got a dog, and about 3 over priced water bottles and enjoyed the game even though the heat and couple of rain drops!

We left at the end of the 10th inning because the game was still tied and went on for hours after wards.
It was a great game though and I am so glad I got to go!

The excitement didn't stop there!!
We then drove through Boston to Caroline's house on the coast in Mass.
We met her pets, got some ice cream and toured her town.

Again we woke up early on Sunday for a fun full day of adventures.
We had delicious bagels from Bagel World. I had a french toast bagel.... never heard of that combo before. But it was so good and it tasted like french toast, but don't worry it wasn't as good as a NY bagel.

We then took a quick drive over to Caroline's beach club and basked in the sun all day. We took a walk on the rocky beach, took some pictures, basked in the sun, took a dip during "adult swim" in the pool and then drove to lunch.
We went to Shubies marketplace in Caro's town for lunch.
I don't know what in New York to compare it to, but it's pretty much a local food store but also with a lunch place inside the food store.
Em and I literally had the best sandwich ever: a chicken Cesar sandwich. It was on fresh bread and it was utterly amazing.
I would eat it again in a heart beat.

Emily hit the road and then Caroline and I went back to the pool to meet up with her family. We all sat on the beach together, I got to talk their ears off and it was a good time!

Shortly after that,  Caroline and her sister drove me to the airport and I made it back home in an hour, like normal, because it is only a 37 minute flight....

You will have to follow my Instagram (@tallandpreppy) to see all of the delicious food I devoured this past weekend, and to see how much weight I gained... lol
All the food I consumed this weekend is bad, but also so good because Em, Caro and I LOVEEEE going out to eat!!
So we really took advantage of all of the good food spots in Mass and I have to go back and get a real good Lobster Roll!!

Teacher E

Monday at work was a very exciting day.
My nephew and niece started taking classes at my school on Monday!

thought it was going to be so much fun, until there was some drama...
Right after the first class my nephew was already being annoying and my niece already shed some tears because she wanted the Oreos in the vending machine and my nephew said no.
Jack was very funny all day and we were goofing off a bit. And then it became a bit to much because he would make my classes crazy and then no one would listen to me.
Some kids even thought my nephew and I were dating... I explained to them, no, he's my nephew and he's three years younger than me. Then the children would ask why he is taller when then I would reply it's fine, boys are supposed to be taller, I have been taller than him my whole life up until this point....

Jack and Ava were really making me laugh all day, but not as hard as one of my coworkers as Michelle and I were leaving work.
As we were walking out the door, our coworker said, "Bye Elizabelle!"
We all laughed and he explained that that is our "ship"/couple name.
It's a combination of Elisabeth and Michelle.

Our coworkers probably think Michelle and I are crazy and that we copy each other with how we dress or how we act, but we really don't. We are just best friends that are very similar in many ways including in outfit choices. We are just on the same wave length! We can't help it! For example, yesterday Michelle and I both wore white shirts with skirts and brown shoes and we didn't even plan it... so our coworkers probably think we're crazy because we dress the same, we commute together and spend time outside work together.

Also Michelle and I have nicknames for each other that no one else is allowed to call us by. She is Mitch to me and me only and I am Liz to her and her only.
We have called each other these nicknames for years now.
I don't remember which day of work it was, because all these days are getting blurred together, but one of our coworkers tried to call me Liz and call Michelle, Mitch. And we put our foot down very quickly on that one.

My coworkers and my kids just call me Elisabeth.
I thought it would be weird for them to call me Miss G or Miss Elisabeth.
But it's okay that the kids don't call me a "teacher name" because they know I am some kind of authority figure because of how I dress.
Michelle and I dress very nicely to work everyday.
We wear business causal outfits. We wear dresses, skirts, white jeans or colored pants.

On Monday I felt especially like a teacher in this dress.
It's not a bad thing, I think I would make a cute teacher.
I think it is a perfect teacher dress because it's dressy but not too dressy at the same time.
I honestly think this whole outfit is perfect for a teacher, shoes and jewelry included!
I wore a very simple pair of studded earrings from Kate Spade that I got from my monthly Rocksbox subscription!
They have such cute jewelry that is appropriate for all kind of work environments as well as just for casual events.

Drama in the Hamptons

I had such a fun and very interesting past weekend at Michelle's house in the Hamptons.

It started with some drama, that unfortunately I created.
I had a very busy and stressful day at work on Friday. Originally Michelle and I were supposed to leave work at two but then my boss asked me if I could sub in for a teacher who's wife was in labor... So I said ah okay. Mind you I am not a teacher and it was three SAT classes that I had to teach, an hour a class. Also, I never took the SAT only the ACT and regardless it's a new form of the SAT.... so you can imagine I was a bit clueless.... And the lesson plans the teacher left me weren't that helpful.
But I did the best that I could and that was it!

Originally, Michelle and I thought we were leaving at two from work, that we would be home by three and get right on the road to the Hamptons.... but because we worked late we didn't leave until seven.
And because of the change of plans I was supposed to text Giorgia and tell her our change in plans but I never did... thus, she sat outside in Michelle's backyard for a couple of hours and waited for us to get back from work.
So oops. So not that it was okay but it kinda was because Giorgia had activities to do. Right George??
I'm sure she did some blogging and journaling!
(Check out her amazing blog Trends and Relations!!!)
She also made some phone calls and did some coloring... ya know she kept herself entertained.

But don't worry eventually we got on the road and listened to Michelle's "awesome fire play list." It was a pretty good play list this time, for once...
We stopped on the way out and got some pizza or as Michelle says "za."
We then took a little dip in the burning hot hot tub and waited for the mysterious man to arrive. The mysterious man is Michelle's older sister, Jenny's boyfriend. He is Italian and Jenny and him met while she was studying abroad for the full year in Italy.
After hearing lots of buzz about him, he lived up to the expectations and was very nice. It was kinda fun because Giorgia is also from Italy so they got to bond over their love for Italy.
They talked about the differences in culture and food. And it was really interesting to hear for a bit, and then it just got annoying because everyone could speak and understand the Italian but Marykate and I...

J Crew orange top
Gap high waisted white skinny jeans in tall

The next morning we got up bright and early, made my famous crêpe, made sandwiches and headed to the beach!
We spend the full day basking in the sun, swimming in the ocean and playing Kam Jam.
We showered and then went over to Montauk and went to Inlet Seafood.

Here's where there is more drama:
So Giorgia and I go into the restaurant to put our names in, and of course I have to do it, and the hostess gives us a pager and tells us the wait time is going to be an hour and a half. We knew it was going to be a wait so we came prepared with snacks. We took our snacks down the road to the beach and watched the sunset. It was gorgeous. The ocean looked stunning and so did the sunset. About 50 min later, after the sun went down and we ate all of our snacks, we walked back over to the restaurant and the hostess said that she buzzed us 45 minutes ago and that they gave our table away.... ummm so that would have been 20 min after we got to the restaurant and not an hour and a half wait.... so that was rude. And then they told us we would have to wait again for another table.
But we know that if we were older and/or with our parents the hostess would have seated us immediately the second time OR they wouldn't have over exaggerated the wait time. They are trying to be smart business people and sit the people with more money and who are legal to drink, thus a bigger check, before some kids that can't buy alcohol at the table. But still, it's rude.

But don't worry we cheered up a bit after dinner when we roasted some s'mores.
And don't worry Girl Scout E manned the fire and make sure it was safely put out at the end of the night.

My outfit:
J Crew purple racer back maxi dress
American Eagle denim jacket
Tiffany pearl studs
F21 gold cuff
Jack Rogers Hampton sandals in platinum
ASOS Glamorous straw bag with pom pom detail
J Crew tortoise shell and blue mirrored sunglasses

Giorgia's outfit:

We had another beach day on Sunday and then I showed off to my two ex-swim team friends how good of a swimmer I was....
I also was given the pleasure of floating on one of the floats in the pool.
But not the swan float, rather the circular float that was less expensive and not really pop-able....
If you remember last year, I may or may not have popped the swan float last year at Michelle's house...
Click HERE to read that blog post.

We then had a big family dinner, said goodbye to the poochy-Ginger, who unfortunately passed away today, and then packed up and left.
On the way home we stopped in Sag Harbor for ice cream and a bit of an adventure.

Michelle's uncle owns a sailboat.
Him and his other brother have been sailing the boat up and down the East coast for some time now.
So on Sunday, they arrived at Sag Harbor.
It was really convenient for us because Sag Harbor was already on the drive home.
We took a little dingy out to the mooring in the middle of the harbor and hopped on the 45 foot sail boat!
The "water taxi" driver's shift was ending at nine, and when he drove us out to the sail boat it was 8:45, and we begged him to come get us before his shift was over so we wouldn't be stuck on the boat over night...
I was feeling pretty sad Sunday night but the little adventure onto the boat really cheered me up.
It just felt good to be out on the water.
I walked around the boat a bit after taking my shoes off and chatted with the "captains."
And then the dingy boat driver came and picked us up like he promised.

And then we went back to reality!
